The Sound of Silence I: An 'Unnatural History' of Rare and Unreleased Tracks

This has been officially released on 18 Jan 2008 e.v. at 2:13AM EST, which is the 10 year anniversary of the start of our work as Austere. It will be available for sale for one year at least, and any unsold copies will be stored until the second and later releases are done, most likely.

There will be several different editions of this release:

1. A very limited "friends-only" edition of 20 for those who have supported us in our endeavours over the last decade.
2. A limited edition box set of 50 copies for sale.
3. Maybe a CD version which will be available on 18 Jan 2009.

Each limited edition numbered box set will contain the following:

• An MP3 player loaded with a SanDisk™ flash card containing 320Kbs CBR MP3 copies of rare tracks from compilations, special projects, and also several unreleased tracks unique to this box set.
• A battery, "earbud" headphones, and USB cable for the MP3 player.
• An "official" Certificate of Authenticity with the Austere "Manifesto" which was written as part of forming the group. Guaranteed to work better than any prescription sleep aide.
• A collection of photos, two of the same in each box, the other two randomly selected. Two are of the duo, one circa 1986 from when we first met, the other a recent portrait.
• A uniquely recorded 78 RPM "Emily Berliner record" etched into a CD - like snowflakes, none will be the same as another. 50 unique copies.
